13. National authorities shall permit the sale and entry into service of vehicles type-approved before the date referred to in Article 13, paragraph 2 of Regulation (EC) No 661/2009 and continue to grant extension of approvals to those vehicles under the terms of Directive 78/317/EEC.
14. By letters dated 16 December 2002, registered by the Commission on 18 December (A/39321), and 20 December 2002, registered on 31 December (A/39483), the Italian authorities notified, pursuant to Article 88(3) of the EC Treaty, an aid scheme planned by the Region of Piedmont for the extension of the network of service stations for the sale of natural gas used as motor fuel.
15. National authorities shall permit the sale and entry into service of vehicles, components and separate technical units type-approved before the dates referred to in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 and continue to grant extension of approvals to those vehicles, components and separate technical units under the terms of the regulatory act under which they were originally permitted or granted, unless the requirements applying to such vehicles, components or separate technical units have been modified or new requirements have been added by this Regulation and its implementing measures.
